Travel to Greifswald

Train:

Greifswald is situated on the Stralsund-Berlin railroad line and can be reached with the Intercity Express train (ICE), the Intercity and the Regional Express trains (RE) with a direct connection from Berlin.

Berlin - Greifswald: Trains run to Greifswald approximately once every hour. The train ride from Berlin to Greifswald takes around 2.5 hours.

Hamburg - Greifswald: The train ride from Hamburg to Greifswald takes between three and five hours. There are regular connections. You may need to change trains in Stralsund and/or Rostock.

Tickets may be purchased in advance using the booking system of Deutsche Bahn.

Plane:

The closest airports to Greifswald are in Rostock (100 km), Berlin (270 km) or Hamburg (270 km).

Upon arrival in Germany, you may use the train service of Deutsche Bahn or you may hire a car to drive to Greifswald.

Car:

Greifswald can be easily reached from Berlin using Autobahn 10, 11 and 20 (260 km) or from Hamburg using Autobahn A1 and A20.

from Berlin (2 to 3 h driving time):
Exit the A20 at Exit 27 (Gützkow) and take the state road B96 to Greifswald.

from Hamburg (2 to 3 h driving time):
Exit the A20 at Exit 25 (Greifswald) and take the state road B109 to Greifswald.
